SMA “Push-on” plug

Thursday, March 13, 2008

Denelex offers the new Delta SMA “Push-on” plug to standard SMA jack adapter is ideal for applications requiring testing Microwave Component Systems such as Duplexers, isolators, circulators, filters, and other microwave components.  These push-on plugs are rated at a maximum Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) of 1:15:1 DC-18GHz so maximum power can be delivered.  It’s a slide-on over the threads of typical SMA which saves time reducing wear and tear on component mounted jacks, and saving mating and un-mating time than traditional screw-on versions.

Other “push-on” SMA designs use outer spring fingers which can damage the points of the receptacles threads and cause plating to flake as they slide across the threads.  Our design employs inner spring fingers which slide inside the smooth inner wall of the jack.  The force to engage is 10 pounds maximum, and the force to disengage is 6 ounces minimum, ensuring a good grip when mated.  In addition to these adapters they have brass bodies, and beryllium-copper contacts and spring fingers.
